Dr Anwar SM Arshad currently is the Consultant Rheumatologist and Interventional Pain Physician in Malaysia.
He received his basic medical degree from University of Malaya and subsequently trained in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology in the University Hospital of UKM, Kuala Lumpur. He pursued MSc in Rheumatology in the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and obtained MRCP in 1997 from Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom. Subsequently trained in Scotland for a higher specialist training in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine.
Dr Anwar Samhari Arshad is currently a Fellow of American College of Rheumatology, Fellow American College of Physician, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and Fellow of the Royal College of Physician of London.
Dr Anwar Arshad also is the first rheumatologist in Asia to pass FIPPin 2008 as well as the first Malaysian Doctor to pass the CIPS conferred by WAPMU as the First CIPS graduate in 2015 and currently serves as Founding Chair of Malaysian Society of Interventional Pain Practitioner(MSIPP) and Chair of Malaysian Chapter of WIP. He served as a Chair of MSK Ultrasound in Rheumatology for Asia-Pacific Society of Rheumatolgy(APLAR) from 2010-2018. He`s also appointed as an CIPS examiner in 2018.
